They say the word safar appears in the oldest poems before it appeared on any map. Before borders were drawn, routes were named, and journeys were measured in kilometres and days, there was simply the impulse. The pull. The quiet, insistent voice that says: there is something out there that belongs to you, and you will not find it standing still.
We did not choose this name casually.
A word that has lived in the mouths of wandering dervishes, desert caravans, and lovesick poets for centuries before it ever appeared on a travel agency’s letterhead. In its simplest translation, it means journey. But simple translations are always the ones that lose the most. Safar carries within it an entire philosophy, the understanding that the road is not merely a means of arriving somewhere. The road is the destination. The becoming that happens between departure and return is the whole point of leaving at all. At Safar Travels, we plan trips. But what we’re really doing is building experiences that outlast the journey itself. The kind you carry home in some changed part of yourself, long after the luggage is unpacked.
This is what we believe. This is why we exist.
New Name. Twenty Years of Knowing.
Here’s something worth understanding about us from the start: we are a new company in the way that a craftsman’s workshop is new when it opens its doors- fresh, focused, and ready, but built entirely on decades of practice that happened before the sign went up.
Our foundation is over 20 years of hands-on experience in the travel industry. That means thousands of itineraries crafted, hundreds of destinations understood at depth, and an instinct for what makes a journey genuinely work, the kind of instinct you simply cannot manufacture or shortcut. It lives in the details.
What We Actually Do
We are a full-service travel agency, which means we handle everything, from the first conversation about where you want to go to the moment you return home. Flights, accommodations, transfers, visas, itineraries, and on-ground support. The entire architecture of your trip is built and managed by people who genuinely know what they’re doing.
We don’t work from templates. Every itinerary we create begins with a question: Who is this traveller, and what do they actually need from this journey? A family travelling with young children needs a fundamentally different India than a solo traveller chasing remote Himalayan trails. A couple celebrating an anniversary in Europe needs a different rhythm entirely than a group of friends on their first international trip. We listen carefully before we plan anything. The itinerary follows the person, not the other way around. We cover both India and international destinations. From the hidden valleys of Arunachal Pradesh to the sunlit piazzas of southern Italy. From Rajasthan’s desert forts to the fjords of Norway. Wherever the journey takes you, we’ve either been there or we have people there who know it the way locals do, which, in travel, is the only knowledge that truly counts.
Travel is one of the few things in life that genuinely broadens who you are, if it’s done with intention. A well-planned journey doesn’t just show you new places. It shows you new ways of thinking, eating, speaking, and moving through the world. It puts you in rooms, landscapes, and conversations that your ordinary daily life would never arrange for you. The return on a truly great trip is disproportionate to what it costs. We believe that deeply, and it shapes how we approach every single booking we take on.
This is why we personalise obsessively. Why do we draw on local knowledge rather than guidebook logic? Why we stay available when you’re on the road, and something unexpected happens because things always do, and what separates a good travel agency from a great one is exactly what they do in that moment. And we will always remember that the word safar carries within it something larger than logistics. It carries the idea that the journey itself is the point. That every mile between where you are and where you’re going is full of something worth paying attention to. That is what we’re here for. To make sure you don’t miss any of it.
